This must be saved in the ico format. If you do not have photo editing/creating software that can create ico files then you will need to download one. After you have created the file, upload it to your public_html directory. Add the following code to the head of page that you want to change the icon for. In most cases this is your index.htm or index.html file. < link REL="SHORTCUT ICON" HREF="http://yourwebsite.com/favicon.ico" > Replace yourwebsite.com with your domain name and remove the spaces between the "greater than" and "less than" symbols.
